First Lady Vonda Hill

Our First Lady

Biography

Sis. Vonda LeAnn Hill was born to Beverly and Cecil Daugherty in Winchester, Kentucky. She is the  second oldest of four siblings—three sisters and one brother. She is the devoted wife of Rev. Dr. Virgil A.  Hill, and together they share a beautifully blended family of five children and six grandchildren.

Sis. Hill accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of seven and was an active  member of Broadway Baptist Church in Winchester, KY, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. H.E.  Baker and Rev. James Brooks. Her spiritual foundation began early and has only deepened throughout her  life.

She is a 1990 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, KY, and a proud 1995 and  1996 graduate of Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY. During her collegiate years, she actively  participated in campus life, serving as a member of the Mighty Thoroughbred Marching Band,  Symphonic Band, Golden Girls Dance Team, the Baptist Student Union, student newspaper staff, and the  Alpha Angel social club. She earned an Associate Degree in Office Administration and a Bachelor of Arts  in English.

Furthering her commitment to biblical education and ministry, First Lady Hill earned a Master’s  Degree in Biblical Studies from Newburgh Theological Seminary in June 2025, equipping her to  serve the Kingdom with deeper knowledge and greater purpose.

Professionally, Sis. Hill has worked in the insurance industry for nearly three decades and currently  serves as a Senior Resolution Manager for Arthur J. Gallagher & Bassett Company. She is licensed in the  state of Kentucky as both a Property & Casualty Agent and an Independent Adjuster.

Over the years, First Lady Hill has been a vital partner in ministry alongside her husband. Her many roles  have included composing and maintaining weekly church bulletins, leading the Women’s Ministry,  overseeing beautification and seasonal church décor, managing audio and sound operations, and  performing a host of administrative duties. She has also served on the Executive Board of the  Consolidated Baptist District Educational Convention and was actively involved with both the  Consolidated Baptist District Association and its Women’s Auxiliary.

Her favorite hymn, “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” echoes the faith and confidence she carries in her walk  with Christ. She finds constant encouragement in Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation;  whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

First Lady Hill is widely known as a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering faith. Her deep  commitment to serving others is demonstrated through her daily walk, her leadership in the church, and  her influence in the community. She holds a special passion for mentoring and empowering youth,  believing wholeheartedly in preparing the next generation for success—spiritually, academically, and  morally.

Among her many accomplishments, she considers supporting her husband in ministry and raising God fearing children to be her greatest callings. With joy, humility, and fervent faith, she continues to serve as  a godly example and help meet to her husband’s vision.

First Lady Vonda L. Hill looks forward to this next season of service at Greater Salem Baptist Church,  where she will continue to worship, fellowship, and lead with purpose and unwavering devotion to the  work of the Lord.
